✨**Call of Cthulhu Season One Masterpost** ✨ 💀 Call of Cthulhu: Haunted Hijinx Masterpost 💀

Warning: This campaign is an edited version of Call of Cthulhu: The Burning Stars scenario. While a lot has been changed, there IS spoilers for it throughout these posts.

so an friend Thren offered to GM Shazz, Maf and myslef to play their favourite Call of Cthulu campaign, which she then reskinned to BATIM since we have dragged her down into the ink with us. Shazz is playing Sammy, Maf is playing Henry, and of course I somehow convinced her to let me play Joey. I probably won’t type up everything but I wanted to share some of my favourite parts:

(haha, I started with just a few parts and then uhhhhh, accidentally typed up a lot more. also, if you wanna read some direct quotes instead of vague retellings, here’s Shazz’s post about the game.)

• We have lost our memories and apparently were found roughed up in the middle of nowhere up a mountain, and taken to a military hospital. In Haiti. After that, we continued to suffer a series of black outs, until we finally managed to maintain consciousness.

• At one point, we’re all about to pass out again it feels like, and Joey, who is next to Sammy, grabs onto his shoulder for support (jOEY PLZ IS THAT REALLY GOING TO SUPPORT YOU??) but instead of blacking out, they recover, and Henry walks in on this, asks if he’s interrupting something. Sammy teleports to the other side of the room.

• We were accused of having hand in illegal gun sales, but not remembering what happened, we denied it, like wHY WOULD AN ANIMATION STUDIO HAVE GUNS?? (Sammy: WHY WOULD WE BE IN HAITI??) … so then they gave us back our three guns(???)… so now we have guns! for everyone!!

• Sammy and Joey have already gotten into two full force yelling matches (one pictured above) which both times Henry had to go calm them down.

• there’s a point where Sammy was almost shoved into the middle seat of the back of a car, but then Joey decided he would take it so he can~~ sit next to Henry~~ look out the front window as they are driven back to their hotel, of course. (Yes I’m playing Joey as a bisexual disaster, sue me.)

• Overly friendly guard: [talking to us, could probably be long lost cousin of wally]
  Joey, annoyed because bad day: … why did they hire you again??
  Henry: [shoves self in front of Joey] sooo, what can you tell us about the thing that happened last night?

• Henry found a mirror in their stuff that works like the seeing tool. So far it’s shown some hints of where to find things, an implied confirmation we’re stuck in a loop, Sammy has a Bendy mask drawn on him, Joey the horns and tail, and Henry has “who am I now?” over his face. Also, hilariously, Joey had ripped a piece of paper from Henry’s hands to use in an argument against Sammy about how it’s not his fault they’re stuck here clearly it’s Tom, but also the paper has “JOEY WHAT DID YOU DO?” written on it when viewed through the mirror. (pictured above)

• THERE’S AUDIO LOGS, IN OUR LUGGAGE… THREN MADE US AUDIO LOG IMAGES THEY’RE DELIGHTFUL…….. also we found 100 Bendy masks in one suit case, and Sammy has apparently brought his Banjo on this trip too.

• which then started the following campaign meme:
  “And inside you find…”
  “100 bendy masks.”
  ”No.”
  “A banjo.”

• Also also, Sammy found his own audio log, played it, it was him complaining about the trip and Joey in the middle of the night, glares over at Joey and agrees with his past self about everything mentioned in the log.

• At one point, they’re looking through Henry’s sketchbook for clues, (which Joey might have sneaky looked through before he returned it to Henry, but also Henry knows Joey and can read him and is mad that he did this.) And Joey forgets why they’re doing that and just starts excitedly complimenting Henry’s work, to which he gets an under the breath “Damnit Joey, I’m supposed to be annoyed with you.”

• Apparently Joey brought lockpicks. This is because we all agreed that out of the three of us, Joey was most likely to know how to pick a lock.

• later, Henry needs a lock picked and calls out to Joey “you have your lock picks with you, right?” because of a moment of forgetting OOC vs IC information, but we quickly were amused and retconned it to, yes Henry just always assumes Joey has his lockpicks on him.

• plenty of situations where:
  “Henry carefully looks around the room as he approaches the–”
  “Joey walks confidently in over to the desk and immediately starts going through it.”
  “Sammy isn’t going to touch it,”
  “Joey immediately picks it up (…) Joey shoves it into Sammy’s hands as he goes and does this other thing.”

• Joey was the first one to lose sanity. Henry almost lost sanity, but decided last minute he didn’t want to attempt to identify the weird black ooze. Somehow, Sammy is going to come out most sane because he’s not (yet) going and sticking his finger in the ominous goo!!! (Sammy also started with about half as much sanity as joey and henry by the way, which is great.)

• we decided because Henry would probably finish off Sammy’s uneaten meal and also ordered something larger for himself, that he stress eats!! which also explains why he guzzles 100 cans of bacon soup in BATIM really.
